According to CoinMeta, the Financial Services Commission of South Korea (FSC) announced a three-phase roadmap for the issuance of tokenized securities on September 4, 2026, with plans to officially adopt the first tokenized securities framework in February 2027. The roadmap aims to develop infrastructure for the tokenization of assets such as stocks, bonds, and funds. Starting from February 4, 2027, tokenized securities will be legally recognized as a digital form of securities. The first phase will provide legal recognition for tokenized securities including institutional money market funds, bonds, unlisted stocks, and structured investment securities. The second phase will expand to all publicly issued securities, while the third phase aims to implement on-chain payments related to stablecoins. FSC also plans to propose revisions to the relevant subsidiary regulations by the end of September and to determine the timelines for the second and third phases.
