According to CoinMeta, Wu said that offchain and labs, co-founders Steven Goldfeder and Solana and co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko, had a dispute regarding the fee model of Robinhood Chain. Goldfeder claimed that under the Arbitrum architecture, approximately 90% of gas revenue could be retained, hence choosing Arbitrum was to “be the landlord, not the tenant.” Yakovenko countered that Robinhood could charge fees at the application front end, while using a lower-cost underlying network. Goldfeder stated that a large amount of on-chain activity did not pass through the Robinhood front end; if one were merely a “tenant” of the underlying network, Robinhood would not be able to obtain the revenue generated by these peripheral activities.
