KuCoin Launches KCUSD; Stablecoin Offers Up to 4% Annual Interest Rate
2026-09-07 22:02:00
According to CoinMeta, KuCoin has announced the launch of KCUSD, a new product designed to help stablecoin holders generate income from their idle balances. This product is aimed at eligible retail, high-net-worth, and institutional users, with a minimum subscription amount of 1 USDT, USDC, or USDG. KCUSD offers a maximum annual dynamic interest rate of 4%; users can earn income simply by holding this asset without any subscription fees, and redemptions will be made in the same asset. The income is added daily to the user's KCUSD balance, allowing for compound interest on the earnings. Early participants can enjoy a promotional annual interest rate of up to 6%. KuCoin states that stablecoins play an important role in the liquidity of the digital asset market, but a large portion of these balances may remain idle. KCUSD addresses this issue through a revenue-generating model that allows users to earn income while holding their assets. KuCoin also plans to integrate KCUSD as collateral or margin to reduce the trade-off between earning income and maintaining the availability of trading capital.
