Crude oil prices approach $100, increasing inflationary pressures
2026-09-08 15:26:09
According to CoinMeta, oil prices are once again approaching $100 per barrel, with Brent crude oil prices rising to their highest level in nearly three months, currently at around $97 per barrel. The U.S. inflation rate has reached 3.4%, and gasoline prices have increased by 24.6% year-on-year. With disruptions in oil transportation in the Gulf region, diesel prices in the United States have hit a record high, putting even more pressure on the Federal Reserve's inflation issues. If oil prices break through $100 and remain at that level, the Fed's inflation challenges will become even more difficult to address. The next major test will be on Friday with the CPI report.
