DBS and Citibank complete cross-border dollar payments through the Swift digital ledger

According to CoinMeta, on September 5th, DBS and Citibank successfully completed a cross-border US dollar payment between Singapore and the United States using tokenized deposits through the Swift digital ledger. The transaction was executed over the weekend and took just a few minutes, achieving 24/7 instant settlement. Rachel Chew, the Chief Operating Officer of DBS, stated that the Swift digital ledger is connecting traditional banking infrastructure with emerging digital networks. Mridula Iyer, the head of services for Southern Asia at Citibank, said that real-time transactions over the weekend prove that 24/7 cross-border payments have become a reality.
