According to CoinMeta, Bank of America, the fifth largest bank in the United States, has just successfully tested its own dollar-backed stablecoin USBDC, conducting a real-time transaction between North America and Europe. The payment was executed on the Stellar network while maintaining connectivity with the bank's existing compliance and risk systems. Bank of America is currently exploring the use of USBDC for 24/7 payments, cross-border financial operations, liquidity management, and faster settlements, which means that dollars can be transferred outside of traditional banking hours without departing from the bank's existing compliance framework.
