According to CoinMeta, Wu said that the founders of Open Standard, co-founders CEO and Bridge, as well as Zach Abrams, indicated that the current stablecoin business model relies too heavily on expanding AUM. In contrast, Open USD ( OUSD ) will shift to a focus on transactions and actual usage volume. Participating companies can share most of the profits from the reserve assets, while developers only need to pay a small transaction fee. Additionally, the burn / exit fee required for exchanging and exiting stablecoins will be abolished. Open USD was previously participated in by over 140 companies, including Visa, Mastercard, Coinbase, BlackRock, etc., and is planned to be launched within 2026.
