According to CoinMeta, co-founder Arthur Hayes stated that the draft specification of the Flop protocol, known as the Flop Labs white paper v0.5.0, is now available online and open for technical review. This protocol is built on the Substrate / Frame framework for reasoning, measurement, and settlement layers, and utilizes Babe for block production and a AlephBFT finalization mechanism. The project plans to launch a test network in the fourth quarter of 2026, with token airdrops linked to participation in the tests, and the mainnet will be launched in the first quarter of 2027.
