According to CoinMeta, OpenAI core product leader Tibo Sottiaux announced that gpt-5.3-codex-spark will be retired next week. The usage of this model has been declining since its launch, and there are now significantly better models available. Codex Spark was launched in February of this year; it is a smaller, faster version of gpt-5.3-codex and is designed specifically for real-time programming. It runs on Cerebras chips and can generate results at a speed of over 1,000 per second, and is only available to ChatGPT Pro users.
