According to CoinMeta, Wu said that he learned that the Thai Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is publicly soliciting opinions on new regulations for the supervision of stablecoins. It is proposed that when making deposits or withdrawals of stablecoins through regulated digital asset operators, both the source account or wallet and the target account or wallet must belong to the same customer. Deposits cannot be made from someone else's wallet, nor can withdrawals be made to someone else's wallet. The inflow and outflow of stablecoins shall not exceed approximately $151,000 per person, per operator, per day. If the transfer occurs between two Thai regulated operators that implement travel and rule, it is not subject to this limit. The Thai SEC stated that the new regulations aim to reduce the risk of stablecoins being used for money laundering, cybercrime, and to evade cross-border fund transfer regulations.
