According to CoinMeta, the cross-chain protocol Chainflip disclosed that its Tron USDT integration was attacked. The attackers exploited a vulnerability in the Tron transaction memo processing mechanism, causing the same deposit to be paid repeatedly by the system. A total of 8 attacks were carried out within about 90 minutes, resulting in 6 unauthorized payments with a combined loss of 736,442 USDT. There is also another amount of 115,654 USDT that has not been paid to the user swap, but the funds are still safely stored in vault. Chainflip stated that the remaining funds were not affected, and affected users will be compensated. Currently, a fix for the vulnerability has been determined, and the network is expected to recover as early as Monday.
