The U.S. Senate will conduct a key vote on Clarity Act

According to CoinMeta, the Democratic leader of the Senate Banking Committee, Elizabeth Warren, will speak in the Senate against Clarity Act. A key procedural vote is expected to take place on Tuesday afternoon, and at least 60 votes are required to advance the bill. The Republicans recently released a revised text that adds ethical provisions prohibiting the president and other senior government officials from issuing digital assets and allowing state attorneys general to enforce these regulations. Warren believes that the new provisions still have significant loopholes, including the possibility for government officials to restrict law enforcement and the fact that they do not cover Trump family World Liberty Financial and its businesses that have obtained bank licenses. She also plans to seek unanimous approval for another bill that would limit government officials such as the president, vice president, and members of Congress, as well as their immediate relatives, from applying for bank licenses, and to revoke licenses issued to relevant individuals since January 20, 2025. However, it is expected to be difficult to obtain support from the Senate, which is controlled by the Republicans.
