According to CoinMeta, and as stated by the U.S. Department of Justice, former Los Angeles County police officer Christopher Michael Cadman from California was sentenced to 21 months in federal prison for abusing his law enforcement authority to threaten and intimidate competitors on behalf of Adam Iza, who identified himself as a "businessman" named crypto. He was also found guilty of tax fraud and ordered to pay $25,000 in compensation. Cadman had previously admitted to conspiring to violate civil rights and filing fraudulent tax returns. The prosecution claimed that Cadman and other officers threatened a rival of Iza with guns, forcing them to transfer approximately $25,000, and later assisted in planning a traffic stop and the arrest of the same victim. Iza had already been sentenced to 15 years in prison for his involvement in a Bitcoin robbery and kidnapping attempt.
