Ethereum wallet loses $7.8 million due to a security module vulnerability

According to CoinMeta, an Ethereum wallet lost approximately $7.8 million in rseth due to a vulnerability in its security module. Attackers exploited a custom security module related to the Uniswap V4 liquidity pool to carry out their attack, and subsequently used a MEV bot named “Yoink” to perform front-running transactions, capturing all $7.8 million in assets. Kelp DAO stated that its core contract remains secure, and the rseth pool is fully collateralized. The incident occurred on September 15, 2026, and blockchain security firm Blockaid identified and tracked this attack.
