BIS: The accuracy of economic indicators on Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Tron is low

CoinMeta data: A latest paper by the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) analyzed nearly 100 billion blockchain records on Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Tron, indicating that economic indicators on mainstream chains are far less accurate than market expectations. Due to differences in technical processing methods such as rounding off (known as “finding change” in this context), the estimation of transaction volumes on the Bitcoin chain can deviate by up to six times compared to Ethereum. On Ethereum, the interaction between 13 million active contracts and robots significantly distorts real transaction activities. Moreover, the behavioral patterns of stablecoins on different chains differ: Ethereum tends to see more contract interactions, while Tron is more focused on simple transfers and token holding. The paper calls on the industry to establish more unified and transparent standards for data statistics and disclosure.
