According to CoinMeta, holders of Zcash almost unanimously supported accelerating the transaction speed during a governance vote, while also retaining the Bitcoin-style halving plan for the network. Approximately 2.4 million ZEC coins were involved in this vote, which accounted for about 3.6 million eligible voters of ZEC. The results showed that 99.9% of the participants supported shortening the block time from 75 seconds to 25 seconds, and 98.9% of the voters chose to retain the Bitcoin-style halving mechanism of Zcash. The voting system allowed only those holding ZEC in Zcash's latest private transaction pool Ironwood to vote, ensuring the privacy of the vote. The voting results will provide a clearer direction for the monetary policy and technical roadmap of Zcash.
