A market report on September 16 indicated that several popular prank coin pages redirected visitors to fake verification pages, instructing them to execute commands on their computers, which allowed the malicious scripts to run and potentially led to the theft of cryptographic assets. Attackers took advantage of traders' habit of quickly browsing token pages, social accounts, and project websites when looking for newly launched assets, enticing them to click on malicious links. The report noted that victims were prompted to execute scripts on their computers, and once the code ran locally, the attack was no longer limited to obtaining on-chain approval through the websites. Recent attack activities combined phishing with malware, aiming to collect wallet information and other credentials.
