Michael Saylor's latest post has sparked market expectations for Strategy to resume its increase in Bitcoin holdings. The company's disclosure shows that this enterprise, formerly known as MicroStrategy, had not reported any new Bitcoin purchases for about two months in a row, but the latest signals have drawn renewed attention to its next filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
Predictions in the market betting are heating up
After Saylor posted the statement "We're back" along with a chart tracking the company's Bitcoin holdings, expectations related to this quickly rose. Data from the prediction market Polymarket shows that the probability of Strategy announcing another purchase of Bitcoin between August 25th and 31st has increased to 96%, which is significantly higher than the approximately 18% level shortly after the post was made.
However, this post itself does not equate to the company having completed the purchase, nor does it disclose the specific quantity. The market is currently mainly awaiting updates to the documents that Strategy will submit to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in the future.
Cash reserves are divided into two parts.
The company disclosed that Strategy currently holds approximately $6.69 billion in cash and reserves, which are used to support its balance sheet arrangements centered around Bitcoin.
- Total cash and reserves: $6.69 billion
- Main debt repayment and dividend distribution fund pool: $5.1 billion
- Flexible allocation of the fund pool: $1.59 billion
Of this amount, approximately $5.1 billion is mainly used for debt repayment, interest payments, and preferred stock dividend payments. It is also used to support the par value of $100 per share of the STRC preferred stock. In addition, about $1.59 billion is set aside in a more flexible cash pool that can be used to buy Bitcoin, repurchase shares, or repay debts depending on market conditions.
Positional floating profit turns positive again
This market reaction is also related to the Bitcoin price returning above the average holding cost of Strategy. According to the data in the text, Strategy has accumulated a holdings of 840,447 BTC, with an average purchase cost of about $75,385 per coin, for a total purchase cost of approximately 63.36 billion US dollars.
Calculated at a price of around $78,719 per Bitcoin, the market value of this portion of the holdings is approximately $66.2 billion, corresponding to an unrealized profit of about $2.8 billion. If the company subsequently confirms a new round of purchases, it would mean the end of its longest pause in increasing its holdings in several months.
Additional information:It is mentioned in the text that Strategy last disclosed a purchase of Bitcoin on June 22, 2026, and since then, the company has not reported any new weekly increases in holdings.
