Solana On-chain prediction market World has launched an independent website world.xyz. The platform claims that the number of users on the waiting list has exceeded 1 million, and the website went offline for a while due to a surge in traffic just a few hours after its launch. This launch also signifies that World has evolved from being previously embedded within Phantom wallets to becoming an independent entry point.
Covering sports and macro events
World currently offers thousands of prediction markets covering topics such as sports, crypto assets, politics, finance, economics, culture, commodities, and weather. The first batch of independent market topics includes NFL regular season, 7 football leagues, F1 events, the 2026 U.S. midterms, as well as the Federal Reserve's next interest rate decision.
The platform adopts the common binary contract model used in prediction markets, allowing users to trade between two options: "yes" and "no." Contracts are settled in $ CASH, which is a US dollar-stabilized coin launched by Phantom. In addition to its independent website, World still maintains connections with Phantom and MoonPay PayBox.
Transactions and liquidity remain on the chain.
World indicates that platform transactions and liquidity continue to remain on the Solana chain. The Solana foundation's DeFi person in charge states that such products bring a new category of assets while keeping the liquidity entirely on the chain.
World made its public debut as early as July this year, initially providing services as a built-in prediction market for Phantom. The platform stated that it had already launched over 150,000 markets prior to this, covering content such as World Cup matches and cryptocurrency price predictions. With the launch of the independent website, Solana users now have access to even more prediction markets.
Airdrop rumors have been clarified
Before its official launch, World hinted multiple times about a "airdrop" surprise, which sparked discussions on social media platforms. Subsequently, the platform clarified that these claims were not related to a token airdrop, but rather to a five-stage rent reduction proposal that was already implemented on the mainnet by Solana last week. Users were able to retrieve a portion of the excess $SOL that had been locked before.
However, upon its launch, World also simultaneously launched an event called “Trade and Earn”. New users who bind their X accounts and participate in the event transactions can receive rewards. Some users claim that the maximum reward for this event can reach up to 500 US dollars.
Chainlink is responsible for automatic settlement.
World uses Chainlink Data Streams and Chainlink Runtime Environment ( CRE ) to provide market data and coordinates automatic settlement. In other words, after the competition ends or the stock market closes, the system can automatically complete the settlement based on the results of the underlying events.
This approach reduces the reliance on manual adjudication or token holder voting, and also shortens the time taken to resolve disputes. For traders, faster settlement means that funds can be transferred to the next market more quickly.

Additional information:According to Artemis data, last week's spot trading volume in the market exceeded 14.6 billion US dollars. As platforms such as Kalshi and Polymarket continue to occupy a major share of the market, the launch of World as an independent platform also indicates that Solana is still striving to gain a foothold in online chain trading activities in this sector.
