The US spot Bitcoin ETF saw a significant inflow of funds on July 30, with a net inflow of $233.1 million, marking its best performance in over three weeks. This result brought the product's weekly and monthly funding figures back to positive, but judging from the pace of recent weeks, institutional buying remains unstable.

IBIT accounts for the main increase.

BlackRock's IBIT was the largest source of inflows that day, attracting $183.4 million, accounting for 78.7% of all net inflows. As of July 30, the fund's assets under management were approximately $47.67 billion.

Among other products, Bitwise's BITB saw a net inflow of $20.7 million, and Fidelity's FBTC saw a net inflow of $15.5 million. Morgan Stanley's MSBT, VanEck's HODL, and Grayscale's Bitcoin Mini Trust also recorded small inflows.

According to SoSoValue data, as of the close of trading on July 30, the total net assets of the US spot Bitcoin ETF were approximately $78.76 billion. Based on this figure, IBIT's holdings account for over 60% of the entire sector, therefore, changes in its subscriptions and redemptions have a significant impact on the overall market's daily data.

July is expected to end two consecutive months of outflows.

Farside's statistics show that from July 1st to July 30th, US spot Bitcoin ETFs saw a net inflow of approximately $438.2 million. SoSoValue's data for the same period is slightly lower, at approximately $437.8 million; the difference mainly stems from different statistical timeframes and calculation methods.

If no significant outflows occur during the US trading session on July 31, July will likely end the previous two consecutive months of net outflows. Farside data shows that these products experienced net outflows of approximately $2.41 billion in May and approximately $4.51 billion in June, with the July rebound only recovering a small portion of those losses.

On a weekly basis, as of Thursday, these products saw a net inflow of approximately $203.9 million this week. If the outflow exceeds this level on Friday, the weekly data could turn negative again; otherwise, it will mark the fourth consecutive week of net inflows.

The price trend has not yet been confirmed to have reversed.

According to CoinGecko data, Bitcoin's price was around $63,144 on July 31, with a 24-hour range of approximately $62,785 to $65,006. The current price remains below the benchmark level used by BlackRock for its July 30 fund valuation.

This means that while the large single-day inflow into ETFs improved short-term sentiment, it is not enough to prove that the longer-term downtrend has ended. Previously, for most of 2024 and 2025, ETF asset size and Bitcoin prices rose in tandem, before subsequently declining from their peaks.

Ethereum spot ETFs also turned to net inflows on the same day. SoSoValue data shows that on July 30th, US spot Ethereum ETFs saw a net inflow of approximately $13.29 million, with BlackRock ETHA accounting for about $16.24 million. According to Farside, the entire sector saw a net inflow of approximately $12.8 million that day, while Fidelity FETH and Grayscale ETHE experienced slight outflows.
