Coinbase Oversold and Falls to a One-Month Low, BTC Declines
2026-09-16 18:11:55
CoinMeta data: The premium for Coinbase has dropped to its lowest level in a month, indicating weakened demand in the United States, investors facing setbacks due to crypto legislation, and the prospect of tighter monetary policies. Data on Tuesday showed a premium of about -0.07%, which is equivalent to a small profit of around $50 on Bitcoin at $75,900, reflecting weak purchasing demand from U.S. exchanges. As the Clear Act failed to pass, the premium deepened from -0.02% the previous day to -0.07%. Bitcoin has now fallen back to around $75,000. The Federal Reserve is expected to raise interest rates by 25 basis points on Wednesday, further tightening financial conditions. High borrowing costs may suppress demand, while tensions in the Middle East have kept energy prices high, with Brent crude oil at around $108 per barrel, and WTI at nearly $104. High energy prices threaten ongoing inflation, and the yield on 10-year Treasury bonds has climbed above 5%, further increasing market pressure.
