According to CoinMeta, Intel’s ($INTL) stock price rose by about 5% on Wednesday as SK Hynix ($HYNN) is considering using Intel’s semiconductor factories in Ohio to manufacture memory chips in the United States for the first time. SK Hynix’ U.S.-listed shares also rose by about 3%. Although the negotiations are still in the exploratory stage, the advanced memory market is becoming increasingly competitive due to the surge in demand for artificial intelligence. This potential collaboration could help SK Hynix bring its production lines closer to major U.S. cloud computing customers and reduce its reliance on manufacturing in Asia.
