According to CoinMeta, as reported by TASS, Russian Deputy Finance Minister Ivan Chebeskov stated that Russia currently has about 20 million cryptocurrency users, with a total investment of 3.7 trillion rubles (approximately 44 billion US dollars) by residents, including directly held cryptocurrencies and some financial products linked to them. The daily trading volume of cryptocurrencies in Russia is about 50 billion rubles (about 595 million US dollars). Chebeskov also mentioned that a significant portion of the market is still outside the regulatory framework. With the implementation of comprehensive regulatory legislation, the government expects to be able to more accurately grasp the market size, transaction structure, and changes in the future. In addition, Russian tax residents will need to report cryptocurrency transactions outside the regulatory system to the Federal Tax Service in the future. If assets such as USDT and USDC are frozen due to actions by foreign issuers, and there is no fault on the part of Russian custodian institutions, the related losses will be borne by the investors.
