According to CoinMeta, Coinbase has announced the launch of fixed-rate Bitcoin mortgage USDC loans supported by the decentralized lending protocol Morpho. Users can mortgage Bitcoin to borrow USDC and lock in the interest rate and repayment date at the start of the loan. This product represents the first enterprise-level deployment of Morpho Midnight. Coinbase is responsible for the user experience, Morpho provides the credit infrastructure, and Base is in charge of settlements. The current active scale of Morpho's floating-rate loans exceeds $1.4 billion, with corresponding collateral worth about $3 billion. This service is expected to launch Bitcoin mortgage lending at the beginning of 2025, and subsequently, the collateral will be extended to include assets such as XRP and Doge Coin.
