According to CoinMeta, an urgent governance proposal on Neutron was manipulated by attackers. The relevant address spent only about $20,199 to buy NTRN, and about 12 minutes before the voting ended, pledged 31.6 million NTRN. As a result, the proposal was passed with 82% support. Subsequently, the attackers transferred control of 11 contracts to their own accounts and inserted malicious code, stealing approximately $4.4 million in assets. To recover the funds, the validators of Cosmos Hub coordinated a chain halt for nearly 24 hours and 48 minutes. During the restart process, about 1.23 million ATOM were transferred from the attackers' wallets to new addresses, with plans to return them to their original holders later on.
