According to CoinMeta, Bitget spokesperson Xie Jiayin stated on X that the platform's security system detected abnormal transfers from some hot wallets at 2:31 a.m. The preliminary estimate is that the amount involved in this incident is about 351.6 million US dollars. The platform claims that cold wallets and the vast majority of assets were not affected, and users' funds are safe. The related losses are fully covered by the Bitget user protection fund, which currently has a scale of over 464 million US dollars. Within minutes of the incident, an emergency response team was activated, and the addresses involved in the abnormal transfers were marked and reported. Additionally, for reasons of financial security, the platform has temporarily shut down the coin withdrawal function and will resume it in an orderly manner once the security verification is complete. The coin deposit and trading functions are still operating normally. The platform also mentioned that they have notified law enforcement agencies and online security organizations to investigate the matter.
