Bitget Stolen Funds and AFX Hacker Incident Are Linked on the Chain
2026-09-25 09:44:44
According to CoinMeta, an on-chain analyst Specter stated that the funds stolen in Bitget are linked to a previous hacker attack AFX that occurred earlier. Specter indicated that this latest attack is connected to the AFX incident that took place in July of this year, during which approximately $24 million was stolen and that attack was attributed to TraderTraitor. Specter mentioned that the funds stolen in Bitget can be directly traced back to the funds stolen in the AFX attack after crossing chains, hence it is speculated that this attack might be related to Lazarus Group. However, the attribution of these incidents is still subject to further verification.
