IBM connects the digital asset platform to the SWIFT blockchain network

IBM has announced that it has connected its digital asset platform Digital Asset Haven to the blockchain shared ledger of SWIFT, enabling financial institutions to process tokenized deposit transactions around the clock, while utilizing familiar payment information and existing settlement systems. This connection utilizes the ISO 20022 message adapter, allowing banks to send instructions through standard payment information without the need for a separate blockchain workflow, thus reducing the requirement to establish new processes. Financial institutions participating in the SWIFT project have been testing tokenized deposits on the shared ledger, with over 40 financial institutions involved in the ledger design, and currently 17 are conducting pilot projects for tokenized deposits. This connection brings IBM's platform one step closer to a network that already connects more than 12,500 financial institutions.
