Backpack CEO: To bring the entire stock market to Solana, a API that connects brokers with the blockchain
2026-09-26 16:21:49
According to CoinMeta, the founder of Backpack and also associated with CEO Armani Ferrante stated that the goal of Backpack is not to cover just 10 or 100 stocks, but rather to bring the entire stock market onto Solana. At its core is a API that connects brokers with DeFi: the tokens held by users correspond to actual shares and can be redeemed for physical assets at a 1:1 ratio, allowing for free two-way transfer between broker accounts and the blockchain. As an example, users can buy SpaceX tokens on Solana and then directly transfer them to broker accounts such as Backpack, Fidelity, and Robinhood. He emphasized that the fundamental difference between this and other tokenized stock solutions on the market is that "you are actually getting the stocks themselves." Ferrante revealed that there are currently only about 200 underlying assets for tokenized stocks across the entire blockchain, and the next step is to expand this to 10,000.
