Costco: $184 million in tariff refunds to be used to lower prices

According to CoinMeta, Costco announced that it received a tariff refund of $184 million in the fourth quarter of its fiscal year and plans to reinvest most of this funds into reducing the prices of goods such as food, beverages, furniture, and hardware. The refund includes approximately $174 million in tariffs and $10 million in interest, and is expected to bring non-recurring earnings of $0.15 per diluted share. Ron Vachris, the CEO of Costco, stated that price reductions were made in multiple categories during the second half of the second quarter. Costco's net sales in the fourth quarter were $93.9 billion, a year-on-year increase of 11.2%, with net income rising from $2.61 billion to $3 billion.
