The prediction came from user Dr, who claimed that the Anthropic's Claude Opus level of 5.5 is close to AGI and believed that companies such as Google, OpenAI, and SpaceX would follow closely behind. Despite Musk's support drawing attention, traders are cautious about the prediction for 2027. Kalshi traders believe there is a 44.3% chance that OpenAI will announce AGI before 2028, while Polymarket traders give a 18% probability. Meanwhile, OpenAI's chief scientist Jakub Pachocki warned that no laboratory is capable of effectively solving the alignment and monitoring issues of AGI, which could lead to humanity losing control over machine intelligence.
