According to CoinMeta, Xie Jiayin, the person in charge of bitget's Greater China region, recently stated during a live broadcast that this is the first security incident to occur in bitget in its 8-year history. The attack stemmed from a vulnerability in a third-party security product; attackers exploited this vulnerability to obtain internal network credentials, but the private keys were not leaked, and the assets in the cold wallets were not affected. Currently, bitget has joined forces with security organizations Mandiant and SlowMist to conduct an independent review and will comprehensively upgrade its monitoring and management standards for third-party components.
