According to CoinMeta, Bitget has opened BTC withdrawals at 4 p.m. Cold wallets, including the risk protection fund, have transferred approximately 3,630 BTC (about $300 million) to hot wallets to meet users' withdrawal needs. So far, over 6,000 withdrawals have been processed within an hour, involving 2,700 BTC (about $220 million). The blocks confirming these first withdrawals are already visible on the blockchain. In addition, Bitget stated that the $464 million risk protection fund will not be depleted after covering the $387.5 million loss; they will use the company's own funds to replenish the fund to no less than $300 million within a week. This is the first security incident since the establishment of Bitget eight years ago. Hackers exploited a vulnerability in a third-party security product to steal internal network access credentials, forged withdrawal commands, and ultimately completed the attack. The vulnerability has now been identified and fixed, ruling out the possibility of internal sabotage.
