According to CoinMeta, Bitget CEO stated on the X platform that users' funds are fully covered by a protection fund of over $300 million. Bitget will use its own funds to top up this fund to over $300 million within this week. The attackers exploited vulnerabilities in third-party products to obtain internal credentials and used them to send fraudulent withdrawal instructions that bypassed risk control; however, no private keys were leaked, and cold wallets were not affected. As of UTC at 8:17 AM, BTC has resumed withdrawals on the Bitcoin mainnet. 9,585 orders have been processed, and assets such as BTCETH and USDT will resume withdrawals in phases starting from tomorrow. Bitget has isolated the affected systems and related servers, fixed the vulnerabilities, revoked and reissued internal credentials, notified third-party suppliers, and disabled the affected functions. Mandiant and SlowMist are supporting independent forensic investigations and asset tracking.
