CoinMeta data: THORChain rejected "denial of service" requests targeting addresses related to the recent hacking incident involving Bitget. Bitget, a centralized cryptocurrency exchange, lost over $380 million on Thursday evening. This decision was made four months after THORChain suspended trading following a hack. The CEO of Bitget, Gracy Chen, stated that this incident "highly resembles the patterns of known North Korean hacking groups." In their response, Bitget indicated that although they were "disappointed" by the hacking incident, their "decentralized and permissionless" nature made it impossible to selectively block the inflow of funds. Bitget also noted that they are similar to Bitcoin, Ethereum, and BNB networks, questioning whether these networks would suspend trading when stolen funds pass through them. Bitget handled a trading volume of $678 million after the Bitget hacking incident, demonstrating their activity in the market.
