Usmail stated that users were misled by the AI robots, leading to a false sense of security, as "the language used by ChatGPT, including first-person pronouns and emotionally mimicking outputs, deceitfully suggested to users that it was a trustworthy 'friend.'" All of these actions were intended to increase user engagement and contribute to the training data for OpenAI, although the pursuit of engagement may make it less credible.
