According to CoinMeta, the Dutch government plans to cut 25,000 civil service positions through efficiency reforms driven by artificial intelligence in order to achieve the goal of saving 3.5 billion euros (approximately 3.9 billion US dollars) per year. As stated in a statement released by the Dutch government on Monday, the central government plans to save 900 million euros per year by 2027, and this figure is expected to increase to 3.5 billion euros by 2035. This means that over the next few years, a total of about 25,000 positions will be cut. The Dutch cabinet will present the relevant plan at the beginning of next year, with the aim of using artificial intelligence to improve work efficiency.
