Arthur Hayes: Establishing a AI computing power derivatives market based on Flop Network
2026-10-27 08:49:53
According to CoinMeta, co-founder BitMEX and Flop Labs CEO Arthur Hayes proposed in their latest article "The Trifecta" that they plan to establish a AI computing power spot and derivatives market based on Flop Network. They believe that there is currently a lack of a unified global benchmark for computing power prices, and Flop Network can form a reference price for computing power by recording the amount of computation, time taken, and Flop payment fees for AI inference tasks. On this basis, users can pre-book computing power for up to 30 days in the future and trade corresponding computing power contracts (FCU), which in turn supports quarterly futures and perpetual contracts settled in US dollars. Hayes stated that following the concept of perpetual contracts and synthetic US dollar stablecoins, they hope that AI computing power derivatives will become their third innovation widely adopted by financial markets.
