Anchorage Becomes the Core of Custody for the US-Mexico Stablecoin Corridor
2026-10-28 03:47:37
According to CoinMeta, Anchorage Digital is expanding its custody and listing arrangements with the Latin American crypto platform Bitso, becoming the core of the US-Mexico stablecoin corridor. This agreement enables the custody services of Anchorage Digital Bank to cover both sides of the corridor, and Bitso's Mexican Peso stablecoin MXNB is now being custodied by this federally licensed crypto bank on six blockchains. Bitso has also launched the US dollar stablecoins USDPT and USAT from Western Union and Tether. The US-Mexico remittance corridor transfers tens of billions of dollars annually and is one of the largest cross-border payment flows in the world. Anchorage believes that stablecoins will gradually replace traditional bank transfers and cash withdrawal networks.
