According to CoinMeta, the public chain Zilliqa has released the latest updates on the security incident, confirming that the cross-chain bridge x-bridge and some liquidity pools that use the ZRC2 proxy contracts, including those involving PlunderSwap, have been compromised. The tokens affected include USDT, SEED, KUSD, and ZOGE. The native token ZIL of Zilliqa EVM and its network have not been affected. Currently, x-bridge remains suspended, and the team is in the process of rotating all operation keys and collaborating with exchanges and law enforcement agencies to conduct an investigation. In addition, Alexander Zahnd has resigned from his position of CEO at the request of individuals. With the support of external cybersecurity and governance advisory firms, the board of directors has taken over supervision until a formal leadership team is appointed.
