Economists: Even if Democrats win midterms, the U.S. tariff offensive could continue

According to CoinMeta, Marcos Carreras, an economist at Coface North America, pointed out in a report that even if the Democratic Party wins the upcoming mid-term elections, U.S. President Donald Trump's measures to impose additional tariffs on other countries are unlikely to ease. He stated, "Even if the Democrats achieve a decisive victory, Trump will still hold the initiative in trade and foreign policy, and Congress's room for maneuver remains limited." He added that regardless of the outcome of the mid-term elections, there is a significant risk that tariff policy will once again become a focal point.
