According to CoinMeta, following the strong demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure that drove up the prices of storage chips, Samsung Electronics has raised its capital expenditure plan, with expected expenditures this year reaching 84.4 trillion Korean won (approximately $63 billion), an increase of about 60%. Although its semiconductor division's operating profit surged 15 times over in the three months ending September, reaching 106.5 trillion Korean won, it was still slightly below the average forecast of 108.5 trillion Korean won by analysts. Samsung's overall net profit increased by 39%, but its stock price fell by 5% at one point on Thursday morning in Seoul. Profits falling short of expectations may put greater pressure on Samsung, as investors are eager to see signs of enhanced profitability and improved product structure.
