Pi Network has set August 11 as the deadline for the Protocol 26 mainnet upgrade. Node operators who fail to complete the upgrade on time will lose their Mainnet connection and will not be able to reconnect until the upgrade is completed.
This update is the penultimate protocol upgrade in Pi's current development pipeline. According to project disclosures, Protocol 27 will be the final update in this planned round. For node operators, the impact of this upgrade is quite direct; whether it is completed on time will determine whether their nodes can remain on the mainnet.
Three products were launched in June.
Pi Network launched three products at Pi2Day in June 2026. While these products have received limited attention outside the community, they constitute the main direction of Pi's recent ecosystem expansion.
PiVerify provides identity verification services to external businesses, where third-party clients pay using Pi to verify that their users are genuine individuals. Pi Network claims that the system has completed over 18 million verifications in 200 countries. This is also one of its few businesses that directly serves external clients and is priced in Pi.
SoloHost allows developers to deploy applications using the computing resources of existing node operators. Nodes can choose to provide idle computing power to external AI workloads and receive Pi payments. Pi states that it currently has approximately 420,000 node operators, with the first 100 production operators starting to perform actual computing tasks after Pi2Day.
Pi Sign-in provides third-party websites and applications with the ability to log in with a Pi account. Whether this product will see widespread adoption depends on developer willingness to integrate it and user adoption. Pi Network claims that there are currently 18 million users who have completed KYC, covering 200 countries.
Protocol 26 supports subsequent operation.
