U.S. brokerage Charles Schwab is expanding its crypto business scope. The company disclosed that in the coming months, Schwab Crypto customers will be able to buy and sell SOL of Solana, AVAX of Avalanche, as well as LINK of Chainlink within their accounts. Previously, the platform already supported trading of Bitcoin and Ethereum.
Three new token transactions added
After this expansion, Jiaxin Financial Management's encrypted accounts will cover more mainstream tokens in addition to the currently supported BTC and ETH. Joe Vietri, the person in charge of the company's digital asset business, stated that this move is aimed at providing customers with more options for digital asset allocation within the existing investment and banking service system.
He also stated that the company hopes to combine encrypted transactions with educational content, tools, and customer support, allowing users to perform related operations in a more familiar account environment.
The platform will continue to expand its capacity in the future.
In addition to adding SOL, AVAX, and LINK, Jiaxin Financial also stated that in the future, it will continue to incorporate more cryptocurrencies and digital assets into the Schwab Crypto platform.
The company mentioned at a media briefing in June of this year that its goal is to provide spot cryptocurrency trading, transfer, and custody services for registered investment advisors on its platform by the middle of 2027. According to disclosures, as of the end of the first quarter of this year, the total asset size of these advisor clients amounted to 5.2 trillion US dollars.
Traditional institutions continue to advance crypto services
Charles Schwab is one of the large financial institutions in the United States that has started offering crypto services in recent years. It is mentioned in the original text that within the past 30 days, AVAX has risen by approximately 15%, while SOL and LINK have both seen increases of over 40%. Against the backdrop of Bitcoin's strength in August, mainstream institutions are also continuing to expand their crypto product lines.
