ZEC saw a rapid strengthening in late August, with the price rising from around $481 in mid-month to a historical high of $880, representing an increase of about 82%. However, after reaching this new high, the price has fallen back to around $800, indicating that the momentum for short-term chasing of gains has cooled down.
ETF had already seen a pre-market rally.
This round of increase occurred around the time that Grayscale launched the Zcash spot ETF. The company converted the Zcash Trust established in 2017 into a spot ETF, and the product began trading on NYSE Arca on August 25th.
However, looking at the price trend, the market showed an obvious early reaction before the product was officially launched. From August 18 to August 23, ZEC rose from around $509 to around $852, an increase of about 65% in just a few days.
Social popularity surges and then declines
On-chain and emotional data also show that market attention reached a high point before the listing of ETF. The data indicates that on August 22, the number of social mentions for ZEC increased to 232, which is about six times the baseline level in August.

However, by the official launch date of ETF, this level of enthusiasm had returned to a normal range. The price performance also did not continue to accelerate after the event took place, indicating that some funds may have completed their positioning before the expected realization of profits.
Whether it can return to $880 is the key.
After reaching a new high, ZEC once fell back to around $796, which is about 6% lower than its peak. This decline is not considered drastic, but it does reflect that the listing of ETF did not immediately bring about a new wave of strong buying interest.
From the current trend, the focus of the market in the coming period remains whether the $880 level can be regained. If the price once again rises above this level, ZEC will enter a range without clear upper resistance; if buying momentum continues to slow down, this recent sharp rise may transition into a consolidation phase.
