AMC Entertainment CEO Adam Aron calls for Robinhood to stop the tokenization of transactions. AMC regarding stocks, stating that AMC has no association with this product and has not granted any authorization or recognition. This statement has once again drawn market attention to the compliance aspects of tokenized stocks.

AMC refers to unauthorized products

Aron indicates that the tokens launched on Robinhood do not represent official participation from AMC. According to him, the company has not approved this product, nor has it participated in its issuance or trading arrangements.

He also questioned whether the product was legal, stating that AMC had already sought review of the matter from external securities lawyers. Robinhood, the CEO of Vlad Tenev, responded later by saying, "What is there to worry about?"

The document states that no equity ownership is attached.

According to the Robinhood document, these tokens are classified as tokenized debt securities, which serve to allow users to gain an economic exposure to the stock price of AMC, without granting ownership of the shares.

This means that the holder is not a shareholder of AMC and therefore cannot directly possess the rights associated with traditional stocks. Based on the information disclosed so far, AMC has not recognized this product arrangement.

Liquidity pool drives the rise of MEME

At the same time, after the meme token MEME on Robinhood Chain and the tokenization AMC entered the same liquidity pool, the enthusiasm for related transactions rapidly increased.

Public data shows that the market value of MEME has risen to approximately $125.6 million, and at one point during trading it reached around $151.2 million. The event also indicates that since the tokenized stocks began trading on the blockchain, they have started to form a more direct linkage with highly volatile crypto assets.
