Micron Technology ( Micron Technology, stock code MU ) saw its stock price fall by about 0.30% after the market closed on Thursday, after rising by 0.81% during regular trading hours earlier in the day. The MU stock price rose by 2.8% on Monday and 5% on Tuesday, but fell by 2.2% on Wednesday. Amid concerns about further interest rate cuts, high oil prices, and the sustainability of AI transactions, rising Treasury yields are dampening investor sentiment. Investors are eagerly awaiting the storage chip company's release of its fourth-quarter results for the fiscal year 2026 on September 30.
Most Wall Street analysts are still optimistic about MU stocks, due to the strong storage demand driven by AI and the rising prices against a backdrop of tight supply. Wall Street expects Micron to report earnings of $3.03 per share, higher than the $3.03 from the same period last year. Revenues are expected to soar by about 350% year-on-year to $50.91 billion.

Analyst Views Before Micron Q4 Financial Reports
Before the fourth-quarter financial report for the fiscal year 2026, Rosenblatt analyst Kevin Cassidy reiterated his "buy" rating on Micron's stock, with a target price of $1,500. The analyst expects the company to once again deliver performance and guidance that exceed expectations. Cassidy predicts that investors will focus on updates to strategic customer agreements ( Strategic Customer Agreements, SCA ). He expects SCA volumes to increase month-over-month and to account for up to 40% of the total output of bits in the next 3 to 5 years.
In addition, Cassidy expects the average selling price in the first quarter of fiscal year 2027 (ASP) to rise quarter-on-quarter, thereby increasing his estimate for the gross margin for that quarter. Although concerns about "downgrading" (de-specing) remain in the market, especially in the field of HBM (high-bandwidth memory), he believes this indicates that the imbalance between supply and demand in storage may continue until 2027.
Similarly, analyst Wolfe Research and Chris Caso reaffirm their "buy" rating on Micron's stock, with a target price of $1,500 as well. Caso remains optimistic about storage stocks, citing the strong pricing for large-scale storage and HBM (high-bandwidth memory), rapid capacity expansion, and the expectation of maintaining solid cash returns until 2028. This five-star analyst added that demand is expected to far exceed supply at least until 2028, and storage prices are expected to continue the upward trend that began at the end of 2025.
MU Should stocks be bought, sold, or held?
With the support of 28 “buy” ratings and 1 “hold” rating, Wall Street has given Micron Technology a “strong buy” consensus rating. The average target price for the stock is $1,557.12, which represents a potential increase of 44.1% from the current level. MU
