Anthropic CEO Dalio Amodei has frequently become the focus this weekend. Axios was the first to report that he would have dinner with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House on Sunday night, and TechCrunch subsequently confirmed this arrangement by citing a source familiar with his itinerary. This will be their first face-to-face meeting, as both parties have recently held differing views on AI security issues.

Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei seems to be everywhere this weekend: he was the subject of jokes during the premiere of the new season of "Saturday Night Live" ( Saturday Night Live ), and tonight, he will also head to the White House to dine with U.S. President Donald Trump.

Axios was the first to disclose Amodei's dinner arrangements, and TechCrunch later confirmed this information with a source who was aware of his itinerary.

This will be the first face-to-face meeting between the two individuals. Recently, they have been on opposing sides in debates about artificial intelligence security. Amodei once announced a plan to slow down the development of AI, or at least to proceed in a more cautious manner; whereas Trump insists that the backlash against AI is a scam orchestrated by the Democrats, without providing any evidence. He also hopes to repackage this technology as "super intelligence."

In fact, even before this current round of confrontation, the relationship between Amodei and Anthropic and the Trump administration has been quite tense. Earlier this year, the Pentagon listed Anthropic as a supply chain risk entity due to the company's attempts to impose restrictions on the use of its technology. Anthropic has been challenging this designation in court, although other officials within the government have been more favorable towards the company.

After mortgage rates rise above 7%, considering buying stocks instead of a house? The S&P 500 has outperformed the housing market by far over the past decade
From an investment perspective, in recent years, the returns on housing in the United States have significantly lagged behind those of the stock market, and mortgage rates rising above 7% may further widen this gap. The article cites economists who argue that buying a home and investing are two different things; at the same time, many regions in the U.S. still have a buyer's market, with sellers making more concessions and offering more discounts.

The new AI proxy of Meta became the focus at the Connect conference, but discussions also intensified regarding its consumer-oriented positioning, practicality, and whether users are willing to hand over sensitive information to Meta. Podcast guests believed that Muse was more like a one-time "party trick," while the advertising business model of Meta made trust issues even more difficult to avoid.
