The new type of self-service store allows students, teachers, and staff to purchase items and leave immediately without having to queue or check out, and it is available day and night.

Cockland, Washington, September 28, 2026 / PRNewswire / -- Amazon Just Walk Out, a member of the 365 Certified Partners Network, announced today that it has opened a new cashless store at the cafeteria of Lake Washington Institute of Technology for Evergreen Refreshments, the longest-serving tea room service provider in the Pacific Northwest region. This store combines Amazon's Just Walk Out technology with the 365 platform that has already been used to operate its campus locations.

Unlike micro-markets or locked vending machines, this new store provides customers with a complete, walk-in retail space with a wider range of products to choose from. Customers can use bank cards, mobile wallets, or the 365Pay app to enter at the entrance turnstiles. The technology is capable of recognizing the items that customers pick up or put back on the shelves, and it generates a virtual shopping cart throughout the purchasing process. Once the customer has completed their selection, they simply need to leave the store, and the system will deduct the cost of the items they have chosen through their selected payment method.

365 Retail Markets Chief Revenue Officer Jeff Dumbrell states:This launch has demonstrated well how the new autonomous retail solution can keep up with the operational needs of campuses like Washington Lake Institute of Technology. Students can now enjoy a complete retail experience without having to queue, with longer operating hours, while Evergreen has gained a store that is capable of handling the peaks and busy periods of campus life.

For Evergreen Refreshments, this store is designed to fit the pace of campus life. It is capable of handling more transactions at any time, thereby alleviating the lunchtime rush; it also reduces sales losses in situations where queues might form during peak hours and cause customers to give up their transactions. Additionally, it extends its services to times when there were only vending machines available, or even no options at all, providing a consistent shopping experience on campus at any time.

Evergreen Refreshments Senior Vice President of Business Development Arthur Siller stated:Washington Lake Institute of Technology has always been a great partner, and we are delighted to bring something new to their students. This store allows them to purchase what they need at any time of day without having to wait in line at all.

As part of the Just Walk Out certified partner network, 365 Retail Markets is responsible for the unified delivery of store construction, managing the entire process from design, installation, camera calibration to gate settings. This technology can be directly integrated with the 365 platform currently in use by Evergreen Refreshments, so product catalog management, payment processing, and reporting are still carried out through the same system and workflow that their team is familiar with. 365 Retail Markets will also serve as the frontline support provider for this store on behalf of Evergreen Refreshments; for more in-depth technical or hardware support, it will be escalated to Amazon for handling.
