ATLANTA, September 28th / PRNewswire / -- Digital Resilience Enterprises that help organizations modernize, protect, and optimize their digital environments TekStream announced today that it will be participating in the 2026 Educause Annual Conference to be held from September 29th to October 2nd in Denver, Colorado.

Throughout the entire conference, the person in charge of cybersecurity from TekStream will share practical methods to address two challenges faced by higher education institutions: one is to cultivate a stronger reserve of cybersecurity professionals with professional capabilities, and the other is to enhance the visibility of network risks within these institutions. TekStream will moderate two sessions, focusing on helping colleges and universities to strengthen their long-term digital resilience while also promoting the evolution of their security initiatives.

TekStream Chief Solution Officer Taylor Morgan stated: "Higher education institutions are being required to manage increasingly complex network environments, while also having to cultivate the talent needed to protect these environments. Educause provides us with an opportunity to bring these discussions together and share some practical models to help institutions strengthen current security while building the workforce and capabilities needed for tomorrow."

The first meeting of TekStream, titled “Rethinking the Student SOC : Expanding Cyber Workforce Development Beyond Triage (Rethinking Student SOC: Expanding Cybersecurity Talent Development Beyond Alarm Routing),” will be held on Wednesday, September 30th, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM ( MT ). During the meeting, TekStream Executive Director Matt Clemmons and Vice President of Solution Development Bruce Johnson will discuss how higher education institutions can take their Student Security Operations Center ( SOC ) projects beyond traditional alarm routing. As AI automates more and more routine security analyses, the meeting will explore ways to expose students to higher-value tasks, including detection engineering, automation, incident response, risk intelligence, compliance, and executive reporting.

On Thursday, October 1st, Johnson and Morgan will host a meeting titled “From Blind Spots to Board Insight : Making Cyber Risk Visible in Higher Ed” (From Blind Spots to Boardroom Insight: Making Cyber Risks in Higher Education Visible), which will take place from 1 pm to 1:45 pm (MT). They will discuss another long-term challenge faced by higher education security teams: how to transform dispersed security data into a clear picture of the institution's network risks. The meeting will introduce a practical framework to reduce visibility gaps, establish continuous compliance assurance, and convert operational security data into insights that are more helpful for institutional leadership and board decision-making.

Participants will gain practical methods to link technical telemetry with organizational risks, demonstrate the maturity of security initiatives, and improve the overall cybersecurity decision-making of the organization.

Johnson indicates that "higher education has a unique opportunity to incorporate network security into both institutional resilience strategies and educational missions. By providing students with meaningful experiences that go beyond mere alarm diversion, and by enabling institutional leadership to gain a clearer understanding of network risks, universities can build stronger security programs while cultivating the next generation of cybersecurity professionals."

In addition to the conference, TekStream will also be holding a Higher Education Fun Time event at the Denver Four Seasons Hotel EDGE Restaurant & Bar from 6 pm to 8 pm on Wednesday, September 30th ( MT ). Educause Participants are invited to exchange ideas with TekStream leaders and peers in higher education to continue discussing topics such as network security, talent cultivation, and digital resilience. An article from HelloNation states that recurring drainage blockages are often not just simple clogs.
